If a fancy-colored diamond has clarity grade recorded on a report, it is based on the same criteria used for colorless diamonds. In fancy-color diamonds, flawlessness is even rarer than in colorless diamonds .
Common clarity grades for fancy-colored diamonds are ‘slightly imperfect’ (SI) and ‘imperfect’ (I). Clarity grades for fancy-color diamonds don’t carry the stigma associated with clarity grades in colorless diamonds, especially if the stone has a rare or unusually deep color.
