Culet:
The culet refers to the very bottom of the diamond, at the base of the pavilion. In older European-cut diamonds this facet can been seen, when you look straight down through the table of the diamond. It will look like the diamond has a hole in the middle. The preferred stone has no culet or a very small culet.
